I had a very special morning today with my mum at Blooming Green in Maidstone. I’d given her a PYO gift voucher for Mother’s Day this year and with life being so busy we only managed to make it over today.
We were blessed to have sun and blue skies and the flowers looked stunning. I took rather a lot of photos of Mum as she looked so beautiful and serene in the morning sun. She turned seventy this month and if I look half as good as her when I’m her age I’ll be very happy.
Mum has always personified beauty to me - from when I was very little and she had long dark hair and long skirts that I would tug at. But more importantly, because she has the most gentle, kind and generous soul of anyone I know. I’ve never heard her say a bad word about anyone and she gives so much to so many. I wish I had a little bit more of her patience and gentleness of spirit.
Mum - I’m so proud of you, and I’m trying my hardest to follow the example of motherhood you’ve set in the way I’m raising my boys. I love you.
If you’re local and haven’t been to Blooming Green before, you must go! For £15 I picked enough flowers to fill three large vases and they’re just gorgeous. I believe it’s open on Saturdays until the end of October.
