Since starting All about the boys, I've been wanting to organise a talk series for parents on raising boys - inviting expert speakers from around the country to Tonbridge to talk to us about how we can best support and nurture our sons in today's complicated world.
So I'm THRILLED to announce my first event, on a topic that I know is very relevant to us all (for boys AND girls): How to Keep our Children Safe Online.
My boys are growing up in a digital world that I know very little about, and I really want to know how I can safeguard them and know the dangers I should be looking out for. Jonathan Taylor MSc is an Online Safety Social Media Consultant at Besafe Online - his talk aims to help parents better understand a childs online life and involvement, and to recognise and control risk to prevent escalation towards danger and potential online harm.
Jonathan will also be discussing the risks of online gaming, grooming, exploitation, bullying and sexting, as well as how to build a positive online presence and general rules and guidelines for online life.
Keeping Our Children Safe Online is at 7.30pm on Monday 23rd Sept at EM Forster Theatre, Tonbridge. It's relevant for parents of all children at primary and secondary school age.
If you're in Kent, please help spread the word! And if anyone has a question for Jonathan do message me and I'll make sure it's addressed on the night.
